Album Review: Robbie Williams - Life Thru a Lens

Year Released: 1997.

Rating: ★★★★★

"The debut album of Britain's most loved pop star."

It is a pleasure to say that this is one of the few pop albums where not a single bad track is present. Leaving the boy band Take That to pursue a solo carrer couldn't have paid off any better. Not only did the debut album sold well, but it proved to the world that he has what it takes to succeed by himself. Starting from the beginning, it never fails to deliver a cheerful, loose, and hyped up atmosphere, "Lazy Days" and "Ego a Go Go". Some tracks however, step away from the upbeat sounds and show Robbie's softer personal feelings towards loved ones, "Angels" and "One of God's Better People". Bringing a great voice and a good producer to the field, this is a well balanced and fresh recording. This is pop people, and Robbie excelled in this category.
